LAB FACILITIES
The microbiology laboratories of Mount Carmel College enables young, budding microbiologists to practically understand the basic fundamentals of the subject. They have modern facilities to enhance this .The department has a well equipped lab, providing both basic and complex instruments that are generally required in the microbiological laboratory.
The department consists of 2 labs and a microbiology instrumentation facility
LAB 1
It is divided into a dry lab and a wet lab

It is where the instruments are placed for use. It consists of AUTOCLAVES, pH METERS, COOLING MICROFUGE, CALORIMETER, CENTRIFUGE, HOT AIR OVEN, INCUBATORS, GERBER CENTRIFUGE, BINOCULAR AND COMPOUND MICROSCOPES.

It is the working area. It accomodates 15-20 students and also has computers that consist of bioinformatics software used for research work.

It is mainly the working area for students. This lab can accomodate a total of 20 students. It has weighing balances and all the chemicals required for the experiments conducted.

It consists of UV CHROME CABINET, FUNGAL HOOD, SAKER INCUBATORS, LAMINAR AIR FLOW UNIT, SPECTROPHOTOMETER, DEEP FREEZER
